Β Β Β Β Β Β  …..All our excitement just vanished. We were sad, we so wanted to reach our destination but we were lost and nobody around to help us. We were broken. But may be it was our lucky day. Out of nowhere we saw a ray of hope!

Β Β Β Β Β Β  A local villager, at that moment I knew I am not going home empty handed today. He helped us out with the correct route, the spot where we started trekking parallel to the stream was the point where we had taken a deroute. The correct route was crossing the stream and going straight. It was a ‘Y’ section. In no time we were back on the correct route. Soon we were trekking with the valley on our left and we could hear the water stream gushing down there. Well this time we were next to the correct stream. After a while we met a group of people returning back saying they couldn’t find the way ahead. But sinceΒ  we knew we were on the correct route we were not going to go back so easily and somehow managed to find the route ahead. A tree was fallen onto the route that covered the route ahead making it difficult to spot.

Finally it was a happy moment now. Far away we could spot the waterfall. And we all started jumping, dancing and screaming out loud in joy. We just ran the remaining patch of trail as we couldnt wait longer. After a good, tiring trek finally we reached the waterfall.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  We expected a good amount of crowd up there but things were different when we reached there. Just a small group of about 5 or 6 people who were about to leave the place the moment we reached there. While leaving they just warned us to leave the site as soon as possible and not be there for more than 5 to 10 minutes. They said the weather is changing quickly and the flow of water is increasing rapidly. But we were filled with excitement so much that we unheard what they said. We just threw our bags over the rocks and dived into the water. Did some dives over the cliff, clicked some photographs and rested on one side of the waterfall where the waters flow felt like a good massage over our tired body. It took us 3 and a half hours to reach up but we just forgot everything and were living in that moment. We opened up our snacks enjoying every bite of it just beside a huge waterfall and no one else around, just us.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  But all that moment was not for too long. Suddenly the weather started getting worse, sky filled with dark, grey clouds, it started raining heavily just like in a bad storm, we could feel the increased force in the waterfall, the sound of the waterfall was getting louder and just at that moment we realised what the previous group warned us about. But we were too late, suddenly there was a flash flood, we were almost enjoying there for more than half an hour. We immediately packed our stuff and started leaving from there. But as I said, it was too late. As we left, the first thing we found was a huge stream just a little away from the waterfall coming from the uphill which was just a small one when we came but now the force was very high and the trail was quite narrow and curved. On one side was the hill and other side was the cliff from where we could clearly see the water from the stream merging down with the water from the waterfall. We decided to move ahead as we had no other option so we stepped carefully into the stream. After a couple of steps we could feel the slippery surface and rocky bottom making difficult for us to make grip. The water was deeper till the knees and the muddy water made it impossible for us to see the bottom. I was on the right most side near the edge of the cliff. All that was going in my mind was that if I tripped, I will be going right down along with the stream. I carefully moved ahead and all of a sudden I found me stepping over a loose stone, that stone slipped and I disbalanced. I was about to fall from the cliff. But somehow i managed to get some grip and slowly cleared the stream. This was very scary but without wasting much time we all quickly left that spot.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Now that we remember the correct route back we increased our speed. The water flowing down besides us was much louder than we heard while going but at that moment all we had inside us was to get back home safely. While returning we came across all those streams that we crossed while going and they all had much higher pressure if water flowing but somehow we managed to clear them one after the other. We met a few groups on our way back who were still going towards the waterfall, we tried to explain them that the situation was very worse up there but they were unable to understand the intensity of the situation, anyways it was their decision to take the risk and we moved ahead.

Β Β Β Β Β Β  Then we came across a stream which was the toughest to cross. That was the broadest streams of all but what we didnt knew was its depth. Just like all other stream we tried crossing it but we realised that as we are crossing, it is getting deeper and deeper and it was very slippery. The water level for me was upto my abdomen but for others it was almost to their chest. We couldnt see where to put our next step because the water was muddy. We came up with the idea of making a chain and clearing out one by one. I was ahead in the chain fetching out the way to clear the stream but again i slipped over a rock and couldnt balance myself. I drowned in and started flowing away with the stream but thanks to Tanmoy for my rescue. He held me. It was a nightmare. Slowly and carefully we crossed it. All we wanted now was to get out of there.

Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  Now we were on the final decend of the hill and that gave us a sigh of relief. We were happy that we were safe after some unexpected dangerous adventures. Finally we came down to the base village where our bikes were parked, jumped on them and took the way back home with all the crazy, everlasting memories. We were tired, hungry, completely soaked in water and mud and sleepy but this adventurous day taught us a lot things which is unforgettable.
